This year we were delighted to raise twelve thousand euros for the charity. This will assist us in developing the Bundle of Sticks site for the building of 12 apartments for young adults leaving state care. The facility will house these adults and they will be supported by professionals who will assist them in learning life skills to become independent and function successfully in society. Currently we see 40% of young adults coming out of state care becoming homeless. Homeless care now recognises the complexity of the problem of homelessness. It was established as local business people helping local people to combat homelessness in the Kildare area. It has become apparent that their expertise lies in building the facility and the complexity of care is extremely challenging and will require high levels of expertise and experience. Homeless care now hope to partner with an existing homeless organisation to ensure standards in care in the care of those living at the facility achieve a standard of excellence. Homeless care will continue to be involved in the governance structure of the rehabilitation facility.
Thank you all for your very generous support.
